The Envelope Please... 2016 Children's Book Award Winners
The Envelope Please... This Year's Big Children's Book Award Winners

Intro

This year’s big children’s book award winners are in and they are awesome! The Caldecott and Newbery awards are probably the most well-known, but there are others like the Printz (outstanding teen book) and Coretta Scott King Award (outstanding children’s book by an African American writer and illustrator) that are worth getting to know.
The books below cover many of the highlights on the list, and there’s a full list of award winners at the American Library Association’s website .

Seeing stars?  Professional book reviewers only award a star to exceptional books.  More than one star means experts from multiple organizations felt the book was outstanding.
